Asesino

Asesino é uma banda criada pelo guitarrista do Brujeria, Asesino, que contém membros de bandas como Fear Factory e Static-X. Enquanto o Brujeria é mais lento, com influências de Hardcore Punk e Metal Extremo, o Asesino é mais rápido, com um som mais focado para o Deathgrind. Não é inusitado a banda tocar covers do Slayer em seus shows. Assim como o Brujeria, as letras são inteiramente cantadas em espanhol com assuntos focados em violência, morte e pervesões em geral. A banda tem costume de fazer comentários sarcásticos em seus shows, e quando tocam alguma canção do Brujeria nos shows, eles alteram as letras para combinar mais com a banda.

Asesino, para mim, é tão bom quanto o Brujeria (ou seja, ótimo). É um som diferente, pois é cantado em espanhol, e não em inglês como todas as bandas. Valorizo essa característica, pois as bandas normalmente acham que sua língua pátria não serve para o metal, o que é um grande engano. Asesino é a maior prova disso.

Benighted é uma banda francesa de Brutal Death Metal, formada na cidade de Saint-Étienne, em maio de 1998. Começou tocando uma mistura de Death Metal e Grindcore, consolidando apenas depois o seu atual estilo. Entre suas influências, encontramos Cannibal Corpse e Marduk.

Enslavement of Beauty é uma banda de Black Metal Melódico proveniente da Noruegua. Foi formada em 1995 por Ole Alexander Myrholt (vocal e letras) e ony Eugene Tunheim (guitarra e composições). Após alguns anos de composição, lançaram, em 1998, a demo Devilry & Temptation. Um ano depois, chegava às lojas, o primeiro disco da banda: Traces O' Red, que marcava o início do seu sucesso.

Trollfest

Trollfest é uma banda de Folk Metal da Noruegua, inspirada declaradamente pela banda Finntroll. As músicas da banda, sempre contagiantes e com uso de instrumentos tradicionais escandinavos, são inspiradas em temas como Trolls e folclore local. Os integrantes da banda não dispensam uma boa cerveja, e usam esse fator para sempre manter um clima "festivo" nas músicas.

Outra banda que adoro. A primeira música que tive contato foi a Helvetes Hunden GARM, que mesmo com uma letra um tanto assustadora, passa uma grande sensação alegria para quem a ouve. Graças a ela, o álbum Willkommen Folk Tell Drekka Fest!! tornou-se meu favorito. Esse álbum, apesar de poder ser considerado mais folk do que metal, propriamente dito, é incrível. Mas, em seu segundo álbum, Brakebein, a banda trabalhou de melhor forma as duas vertentes, tornando-a mais incrível ainda.

Cradle Of Filth é uma banda inglesa de Suffolk, Londres, formada em 1991. O seu estilo musical tem levantado muita discussão, pelo que se referenciará Extreme Gothic Metal, Symphonic Metal, Symphonic Black Metal, Vampyric Metal, Death Metal Melódico, Horror Metal. Os seus temas líricos destacam-se por literatura gótica, poesia, erotismo, vampirismo, mitologia e filmes de horror. Aposta numa caracterização maquiavélica de criaturas guerreiras e demoníacas e numa teatralização de movimentos. É tida como uma das bandas mais espetaculares do gênero musical, e a que mais tem destacado novo público a esse domínio.

Essa é, definitivamente, a minha banda preferida, por isso começei com ela. Ouço suas músicas faz anos, e não canso. Como dizem por aí, o desempenho da banda caiu muito nos últimos álbuns (desde Midian), mas nesse recém lançado Godspeed on The Devil's Thunder, o Cradle of Filth mostra que ainda tem muita coisa pela frente. Infelizmente, o vocalista, Dani Filth, não consegue mais "gritar" como antes. Mesmo assim, é obrigatório ouvir para quem não conheçe.

Recomendo: Summer Dying Fast, Queen of Winter Throned, Forest Whispers My Name, Dusk... and Her Embrace, Funeral in Carpathia, Tortured Soul Asylum, Lord Abortion, e muitas outras.
